Luscious hair is every girl’s dream. To get those super locks we will go to any extent, be it trying out latest hair products, best hair packs and of course hair oil. There may be several hair oils that you might have already tried but you may not be satisfied with the results. Well, then maybe you are missing out on something- the essential oil is what is I am talking about.


Essential oil is known to be good for hair growth, for decreasing dandruff, loss of hair and it also helps in reducing the symptoms of alopecia areta, a condition in which hair is lost from some or all areas of the body, usually from the scalp. Adding few drops essential oils to your shampoo right before shampooing or making your own homemade shampoos with these essential oils can help tackle a number of hair and scalp issues.

Carrot essential oil: Is great for hair growth as it is a rich source of carotene and antioxidants. It helps in skin renewal apart from hair growth.

Rose essential oil: Rose oil adds a nice shine to your hair and helps reduce frizz. It also makes your hair smell great.

Chamomile essential oil: Chamomile essential oil is got from the blooms of the Chamomile plant. It is got from two flavors Roman Chamomile and German Chamomile. The Roman Chamomile oil is soothing oil and is known for its calming effect on the nerves. It soothes scalp and hair equally. This oil is best for dry as well as brittle hair and it is also extremely beneficial for eliminating lice.

Tea tree essential oil: Tea tree oil unblocks the sebaceous glands and it stimulates the blood flow into the scalp. It eliminates dead skin cells and makes the hair healthy and shiny.

Cypress oil: It is mainly helpful in treating alopecia areata as well as in treating the dull and dry hair. For best results, you have to mix essential oils like Rosemary, lavender or sage to make your own hair care oil.

Lavender hair oil: Lavender hair oil is good to relax body as well as mind. It relaxes overall and thus promotes hair growth. Lavender oil is basically extracted from the flowers of the lavender plant. Lavender oil is excellent for preventing itching and dandruff.

Rosemary oil: Rosemary oil is known for its fragrance and is very useful in treating dandruff issues as well as dry and scaly scalp. Rosemary oil will stimulate the hair follicles, as a result of which hair will grow longer and stronger.

Myrrh oil: Myrrh is a resin that is extracted from the low-growing branches of Commiphora. This essential oil is great for dry hair. This oil is best for people who suffer from dry scalp. It is also excellent remedy for dandruff issues and under-active sebaceous glands.

Peppermint Oil: This essential oil is best to stimulate the blood flow to the hair root. Peppermint oil ensures that the hair receives proper nourishment and thus it will promote the hair growth too. You may take the complete advantage of this oil by adding a couple of drops to a natural shampoo and conditioner for a cooling effect.

Lemon oil: This essential oil is great for oily hair. It is also used in many cuisines, thanks to its amazing flavor. Lemon oil can be used to prevent scalp dryness and dandruff apart from killing lice.

Add a drop or two of your favorite essential oil that match your hair type in any carrier oils and apply to scalp, or use it in a natural shampoo or unscented hair conditioner to improve the condition of the hair and scalp. Can be also used in a weekly hot oil treatment for super shiny hair that’s soft as silk and very manageable.
